Teens
Dropping Out of School
Teens drop out of
school for many different reasons. Many teens drop out of school because of
family issues, financial difficulties or teen pregnancy. Family problems cause
student to drop out more because they miss a lot of school. The older siblings
may have to take are of the younger sibling while the parent are at work. Teen
pregnancy is another cause that may keep students from coming to school. To
have a baby at home and deal with the stress of schoolwork it may be too much
for a teen.
Some teens may
have to go to work to help support their family. Being a teenager is very hard
and stressful and sometimes an adult does not make it any easier on us. A few
adults may tell a teenager that he or she can’t do it or your not going to make
it. By telling teens that you going make it harder for them to make an effort
in class or to do any work.
Teens
who drop out of school are less likely to have a good paying job further on in
the future. There are only a few jobs that are going to take you without a high
school diploma. In high school the work you get become harder so you begin to
struggle. You have to encourage your student to do better and achieve their
dream.
A
way of telling a student is falling into the path of dropping out of school is
attendance and when students grades are beginning to lower than what they
really are. Students may appear to be in school once every two weeks; you will
not expect to see that student again for another few days. They may also drop
out of school because they may have got held back from a grade.
When
you tell the student that they don’t have much of a chance to graduate, they
will think about what you said and say it is true. The teacher and parents
should tell their child or student that they are able to do it. Students need
that push to do what they can do in school to carry on into the future.
